Assessment options
The following assessment methods are available to the learner:
• option 1: traditional face-to-face (paper-based)
• option 2: online, invigilated in person by the centre staff at the centre venue
• option 3: online, remotely invigilated by the Awarding Organisation.
Sample assessment materials are available within the Functional Skills area of the TQUK
website.
Recognised prior learning (English only)
An Awarding Organisation must permit a learner to carry forward his or her result for a
component from a previous attempt at a Functional Skills qualification in English at the
same level awarded by that Awarding Organisation or a different Awarding Organisation.
This includes circumstances in which a learner has not previously attempted all three
components and would cover previous registrations onto Functional skills qualification with
TQUK and previous registrations with other Awarding Organisations.
